MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Bosch SPX68C75UC
A compact Bosch 800 Series dishwasher with exact-model E-code guidance, rack and cycle details.
Fit and loading of this narrow Bosch
Bosch lists SPX68C75UC as a compact 800 Series built-in dishwasher with ten place settings, a bar handle and a stainless-steel tub. Its published body is 32 1/16 inches high, 17 5/8 inches wide and 22 9/16 inches deep; compare those body measurements with the cabinet opening rather than assuming that every nominal 18-inch opening fits. The same listing gives 44 dBA, useful when deciding whether a running machine is easy to hear from the next room. The official owner PDF actually prints SPX68C75UC on its cover, so its loading drawings are tied to this model. Inside, the manual distinguishes a separate silverware drawer from the basket in the lower area. That lets an owner place long utensils above without forcing cutlery into a crowded basket. The upper rack height also needs to be checked against large pans below before starting a cycle; an apparently generous place-setting figure does not guarantee clearance for every unusual item.
What its programs actually do
The wash choice matters more than the 800 Series badge. The manual assigns Heavy to pots, pans and stubborn dried-on starch or protein; Auto is for mixed everyday dishware and reacts to the soil seen in rinse water. Bosch describes AquaSensor as an optical measurement of that water's turbidity, allowing the controller to adjust water handling and, in Auto, time and temperature. Express instead has a short 30-minute reference in the cycle chart and suits lighter, fresher residue; it is not the same treatment as Heavy. A normal household load can use the Normal entry, while temperature-sensitive glasses belong with the documented gentle program when their maker permits machine washing. Favorite stores a chosen program-and-option combination rather than inventing a new wash system. After saving it, verify which choice is actually recalled on the physical controls or in Home Connect. The published durations are reference values because water temperature, soil and selected options change a real run.
Read the displayed fault before acting
A displayed E-code should be copied exactly before someone resets the appliance. In this SPX68C75UC manual, E:31-00 means the water-protection system has activated; Bosch says to close the supply valve and contact service. E:34-00 likewise describes water continuously entering the machine and calls for the valve to be shut. E:32-00 is different: the valve may simply be closed, although the same route also covers a restricted inlet. Opening the valve is the first check only when the installation is otherwise safe. The drain entry E:61-02 is explicitly labelled not an appliance error when a loose pump cover or a foreign object is involved; it does not prove a pump motor failure. E:92-40 directs attention to dirty filters, whereas E:90-01 points to low household voltage and an electrician. These distinctions prevent an owner from treating every code as a request to replace a part. Stop at the manual's service boundary for a continuing water-protection or electrical warning.
Maintenance that changes the result
Routine care gives those diagnostic messages context. Bosch provides a rinse-aid setting that can be lowered when streaking appears and raised when water spots or weak drying persist; the manual's r04 factory value is a setting, not a fault number. The detergent table gives different measures for Auto, Heavy, Delicate and Express, so a full tablet is not automatically the right amount for every short or lightly soiled run. Machine Care is a separate empty-appliance program for deposits, with cleaner placement described in two phases. It should not be mistaken for a wash cycle carrying dishes. The filter assembly contains coarse, fine and micro elements; check for residue and reassemble the locking pieces as instructed before deciding that a drain problem has returned. A blocked filter can also produce a specific E:92-40 signal. Cleaning the filters and keeping the spray-arm outlets clear addresses documented maintenance points, but the manual does not promise these steps will cure an unrelated electronic fault.
Signals, drying and connected features
Several SPX68C75UC indicators describe normal operation, and reading them prevents a false fault report. The control display can show remaining time or basic settings; a red InfoLight spot is projected below the door while a program runs and goes out when it ends. A completed Sanitize selection can show SAn, which should not be rewritten as an error code. Bosch lists CrystalDry and PureDry for the exact product, while the manual explains that the Zeolite opening must stay clear of dishware for the mineral-based drying path to work. Position tall items with that opening and spray movement in mind before attributing damp plastics to a failed heater. The product also supports Home Connect remote monitoring and control; the manual says connection to a mobile device is required before those functions are available. If a connected status differs from the physical display, record both observations and the exact program rather than assuming the app has diagnosed a component.
