MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: GE JGBP35DEDWW
The white-on-white JGBP35DEDWW uses two 12,000-BTU gas burners, cast grates and gray drip pans. Its digital self-cleaning oven has Hi/Low broil and an F function-error display; the lower drawer is storage.
Identify the twin high-output white range
JGBP35DEDWW is a 30-inch GE free-standing gas range in White on White, including a white glass oven door and large viewing window. The porcelain-enamel cooktop is one-piece and upswept to contain ordinary spills around four sealed burners. Two burners carry the same high-output rating of 12,000/1,000 BTU; the all-purpose position is 9,500/850 BTU, and Precise Simmer is 5,000/600 BTU. This arrangement lets two pans heat rapidly at once without giving up a much gentler small-saucepan position. Square standard-cast grates and gray porcelain-enamel drip pans are exact-model details, useful when matching replacement parts. The official PDF cover names JGBP35, but its pages also cover JGBP80, JGBP85 and JGBP90. It expressly warns that features and appearance vary by model. For this white DEDWW suffix, rely on the model's specification for burner count, grate material and drawer type rather than treating every accessory or picture in the family guide as installed on this range.
Use baking and two-level broiling
The main oven uses QuickSet IV with SmartLogic controls and a digital temperature display; True Temp is the listed temperature-management system. It holds two racks across six available levels. Bake and timed Delay Bake are listed modes, and a control lock can prevent unintended keypad changes. Broiling is inside the oven, with Hi and Low choices. The manual says to close the oven door for broiling, select BROIL HI/LO and press START, using Low for thicker poultry or meat that needs more time without excessive surface browning. The exact GE listing includes an extra-large broiler pan and grid, which is a meaningful difference from otherwise similar ranges whose shared PDFs mention a pan but whose exact product does not list one. Move racks before heating and check the food rather than assuming a table time guarantees doneness. A minute timer is separate from the automatic oven operation. After any outage, the clock and a programmed cooking schedule may need to be reset before delayed baking can work as expected.
Separate storage, cleaning and variant instructions
The lower compartment needs special attention because the manual devotes two pages to an electric warming drawer for some models. GE's exact JGBP35DEDWW configuration says Range with Storage Drawer. That drawer is suitable for cookware and bakeware, not food warming, and the manual says to keep plastics and flammables out. It slides out for cleaning beneath the range; replace its stops on the rails evenly. Do not apply the family manual's WARMING DRAWER pad and temperature-level instructions to this model simply because they appear nearby. For the self-cleaning oven, remove cookware and foil, wipe heavy soil and allow the door to lock and cool as instructed. Burner heads and caps are a different cleaning job. The ignition electrode opening and burner ports must remain clear, and reassembled parts must be seated in the right positions. This distinction helps separate a surface flame problem from an oven-control code or a storage drawer that was never heated.
Read F and Err as different messages
A flashing F followed by a number or letter, accompanied by the oven control signal, is called a function error on physical PDF page 10. The guide does not identify a failed part from any particular suffix. Press CLEAR/OFF, let the oven cool one hour and retry. During self-cleaning, a range equipped with a door latch also needs that latch checked for full engagement. The troubleshooting table on physical page 46 adds a five-minute disconnection of all range power if F repeats; reconnect and seek service if it returns. By contrast, Err is the manual's message for trying a time or temperature beyond the control's allowed limits. Clear that entry and choose a valid setting rather than running the F recovery for it. A blinking time display after a power failure is yet another state, resolved by resetting the clock and timed functions. Report the full JGBP35DEDWW suffix, exact characters displayed and whether Self Clean or broil was running to a technician.
