MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: GE PSI23MCLBB
Black non-dispenser 22.7-cu-ft PSI23MCLBB: blinking green internal icemaker lamp means trapped cubes.
A 23-size Profile with no door dispenser
PSI23MCLBB is a black-on-black GE Profile Arctica CustomStyle side-by-side refrigerator with 22.7 cubic feet split between 14.4 cubic feet of fresh-food space and 8.3 in the freezer. GE calls it a counter-depth design. The exact product page specifies a factory-installed icemaker but, just as decisively, says Non-Dispenser: cubes are stored inside the freezer and there is no water or ice pad on the door. This distinction matters because the product-linked Profile manual spans models 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 and includes a separate page for optional front dispensers. The applicable evidence instead comes from the icemaker drawing on page eleven and GE's exact factory-ice specification. The unit has upfront electronic touch temperature controls, electronic sensors, ClimateKeeper temperature management and an Air Tower. Its black finish, no-dispenser front and 23-size cabinet set it apart from other GE ice-making refrigerators with a visible green warning lamp.
Green lamp at the internal icemaker
The warning to watch is the green power lamp on the automatic icemaker blinking. Rendered page eleven shows one icemaker with a power switch, green light and feeler arm, and states that trapped cubes cause that blink. GE instructs turning the ice switch to O, removing cubes stuck in the mechanism, and switching back to I. The owner guide then allows roughly 45 minutes before the icemaker resumes, so immediate silence after a reset is expected. Page thirty repeats the connection between blinking and lodged cubes in a troubleshooting table. It separately describes a disconnected water supply, warm freezer, switch left off and cubes piled high enough to lift the feeler arm. Those conditions explain no ice but do not automatically mean the green-light jam signal is present. A new installation may require twelve to twenty-four hours before its first cubes. Access the ice by drawing the upper freezer shelf out and pulling the storage drawer forward; there is no front dispenser to diagnose on PSI23MCLBB. Record the lamp state and whether ice is actually caught before seeking service.
Shelf plan and cold-air drawers
Storage on this exact unit differs from the dispenser-equipped family examples. It has three fresh-food cabinet shelves, including a QuickSpace shelf that folds under itself to make height for taller containers. Two shelves slide forward and have spill-containment edges; the manual reminds users to push them fully back before closing the door. In the freezer, GE lists two cabinet shelves, one sliding, three pull-out baskets and four tilt-out door bins, three adjustable. This layout provides access to the inner ice drawer, yet food stacked across the upper shelf can make an ice inspection awkward. The fresh-food door has four bins. An adjustable-temperature top pan receives cold freezer air through its own duct at the coldest setting, as page ten explains; a milder setting makes it normal refrigerator storage. Adjustable humidity in the produce drawers gives many vegetables a high setting and fruit a lower one. None of these storage controls is the green ice fault lamp, and moving a deli-pan lever cannot release a cube caught in the icemaker.
Controls, FreshSaver and what to report
Both electronic temperature controls leave the factory at 5. After changing one, the guide asks for 24 hours before judging the new temperature; setting either control to 0 stops cooling both sections without disconnecting electricity. The Air Tower and lower freezer Air Tunnel form the manual's Performance Air Flow System, which should not be treated as an error readout. GE's exact listing also identifies Frost Guard. An easily confused filter detail is the FreshSaver item: its manual description places it in the fresh-produce drawer and gives an approximate eight-year life. That is separate from the dispenser water-cartridge lights described for other models in the shared guide. As PSI23MCLBB has no door dispenser, do not follow optional dispenser LOCK CONTROL, Quick Ice, Door Alarm or filter-light instructions as though those pads existed here. If green blinking remains after the off-clear-on sequence and expected pause, report the exact model, water-line state, switch position, actual trapped cubes, bin level and time since startup. These observations distinguish a jam from normal cooling delay or interrupted water without inventing a numerical code.
