MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: GE WSLS1100AWW

Stationary WSLS1100AWW: FF and dr refer to fixed hot/cold and drain connections; p17 also lists five other display states.

Stationary model and four-temperature panel

WSLS1100AWW is GE's stationary Spacemaker top-loader, not the similarly named portable WSLP1100. The exact product page calls it extra-large and specifies a stainless-steel basket, white-on-white finish, a granite-appearance top, ten cycles and four wash/rinse temperature choices. Rendered page five of the linked owner PDF shows HOT/COLD, WARM/WARM, WARM/COLD and COLD/COLD on the shared electronic panel. WARM/WARM is an especially useful cross-check against this SKU's four-temperature specification. The manual's cover lists WSLS1100 and two related families, while page eleven explicitly heads the connection directions for stationary WSLS1100 and WSLM1100. Page six says TIME REMAINING also displays status indicators, which page seventeen names and explains. Those pages establish that the codes belong to the actual two-character display. The product supplies fill and drain hoses for permanent hot/cold connections. Instructions for the portable family's single-faucet Uni-Coupler do not describe the WSLS1100 plumbing and should not be used to explain its inlet or drain setup.

Trace FF and dr through fixed plumbing

For a stationary installation, FF sends attention to both supply lines. It means the started wash has not filled the basket within sixty minutes, and the washer sounds a signal. The status table tells the owner to open incoming faucets and examine fill hoses for obstruction or kinks. Page eleven adds that hot and cold lines should be flushed of particles before attaching the hoses to their corresponding faucets; after connection, turn on water and inspect for leaks. A poorly supplied fixed line is a more immediate check than attributing FF to an electronic control. The lowercase dr indicates water is not draining. Check the outlet hose rather than the inlet: page eleven shows its end formed into a U and secured at a laundry tub or standpipe, leaving an air gap. The manual warns that no U bend or a snug standpipe fit can cause siphoning, which is a separate drainage behavior. It also says the top of the drain outlet should be below eight feet. These exact fixed-plumbing details make FF and dr actionable in different directions.

Interpret Ub, Lo, Po, IE and 2h

Ub means an unbalanced wash load. Spread garments around the basket and make sure the stationary unit is level; the noise table recommends pausing, redistributing and restarting if the load knocks. Lo says the lid is not closed. The operating instructions add that an open lid sounds an alert and prevents agitation, so closing it is the first response. Po is the end-of-cycle state in which power did not automatically shut off; the table instructs POWER ON/OFF. IE gives no part-specific diagnosis: switch off and call service as written, rather than assigning its letters a guessed component. Finally, 2h is an ordinary duration status when the total required time exceeds ninety-nine minutes. The Load Sensing option can turn the agitator before adding water, then estimates amount and time. Seeing 2h with that mode does not mean the fill valve has failed. Record exact capitalization of FF, dr, Ub, Lo, Po, IE and 2h plus when they appeared; the same short display carries distinct conditions.

Everyday washing and installation check

Routine operation has its own path. On this stationary model, Rinse Only is useful for excess detergent, Spin Only removes water, Quick Wash targets one or two lightly soiled pieces and Delicates defaults to cold/cold. Four water levels allow the selected level to cover clothing without packing the basket beyond its top row of holes. The two removable lint filters in the basket walls should be cleaned weekly. The detergent/fabric-softener drawer and the separate liquid-bleach compartment have different functions: the latter dilutes a measured dose before it reaches the laundry, and the manual forbids undiluted chlorine bleach directly on clothing. Following installation, GE instructs running a complete cycle and checking for leaks. If placed in an alcove or closet, the clearance instructions apply only if the machine bears the approval label described on page twelve. These practical steps help keep the fixed water path and wash quality in order, while the page-seventeen display table remains the authority for a specific code.
