MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: LG DLE6100W

LG DLE6100W is a white electric rear-control dryer with exact Low/Medium, High and Flow Sense LED fault patterns.

Confirm the white electric dryer and its rear controls

DLE6100W is the white, electric member of LG's 7.3-cubic-foot 6100/6101 dryer line. Its exact product page links a builder specification that lists DLE6100W separately from the gas DLG6101W and the gray finish. The DLE6100W support page links a 48-page English owner PDF whose cover names DL*610***. That family relationship is useful only after checking the panel: the rendered page 29 shows the rear-mounted cycle dial, Start/Pause key, temperature and dryness LEDs, and a small status area. It is not the large LCD interface used by LG's newer front-loading dryers.

The exact specification calls the controls electronic with an LED display. It lists five cycles, three options, a reversible door and an electric four-way vent choice. It also says Wi-Fi Enabled No and Steam Technology No. Those last two rows prevent accidental advice about remote-app alerts or steam-supply faults. On page 30, Dry and Cool lights show stages of the current run; Energy Saver and Control Lock lights identify selected options. A lit operating indicator alone is not one of the error patterns described on page 39.

Choose cycles without manufacturing a fault

The sensor programs include Normal, Perm. Press, Heavy Duty and Delicates. The owner guide explains that dual sensing compares moisture in the laundry and air, then adjusts drying time. Use Normal for ordinary cotton and mixed loads, Heavy Duty for substantial fabrics, and Delicates for items that need gentler treatment. The specification's manual settings are Air Dry and 60, 40 or 20-minute choices. Air Dry avoids heat for suitable items. These distinctions help explain a damp load before assuming the dryer has failed.

The Temp. and Dry Level keys do not permit every combination on every cycle. Page 33 says an unavailable modifier produces two chimes without changing the setting. Choosing Very rather than Damp can lengthen the cycle. A beep after pressing a forbidden combination is therefore different from the error chime and LEDs. Select the program according to the care label, leave room for tumbling, and avoid trapping fabric between the door and seal. The guide recommends separating an extra-large load for more consistent drying.

Read the three actual error-light patterns

On page 39, LG labels a Low or Medium temperature LED that lights with a chime as temperature sensor failure. The direction is to turn off the appliance and call for service. A High LED error pattern points to an incorrectly connected power cord; the specified inspection concerns the terminal block. This is an electric-model issue and should not be converted into an instruction to inspect a gas line. Record exactly which temperature indicator is illuminated, whether the cycle starts, and whether the chime accompanies it.

The third error row says the Flow Sense LED lights when exhaust is excessively long or has too many turns or restrictions. It can also indicate a blocked house exhaust. Page 30 describes Flow Sense as the duct-blockage system, while the specification confirms its presence on DLE6100W. Dry, Cool and Energy Saver lights elsewhere on the panel have different meanings. This dryer does not provide the text messages or numeric blockage percentages found on some other LG models, so describing its three LED patterns precisely is more reliable than importing another family's code list.

Trace airflow from filter to outside hood

LG warns against operating with severely restricted exhaust because of fire and property-damage risk. If the Flow Sense light appears, inspect the exterior hood for obstruction and make sure the duct has not been crushed or packed with lint. A short, straight vent route is preferable to a long route with many elbows. The installation test on pages 24 and 25 is designed to reveal serious duct problems, but the manual says it may show a different number of bars from the normal running test. It also notes that an unlit test indicator cannot prove every restriction absent.

The troubleshooting section says Flow Sense can remain lit for two hours after a cycle and may require several consecutive improved cycles before resetting after cleaning. If it persists beyond five cycles after a restriction is cleared, LG advises service. These timing rules stop an owner from declaring a repair unsuccessful immediately. The lint filter should be cleaned before use and reinstalled firmly. A clogged filter or crowded drum can slow drying even without the dedicated duct alert; page 38 discusses airflow as a cause of long runs.

Supply evidence when requesting help

Before calling, write down DLE6100W, electric fuel type, the selected cycle and the exact LEDs that illuminate. Note whether Low or Medium, High, or Flow Sense lights came on with a chime, and whether Dry or Cool were simply showing progress. A photo of the rear panel is especially useful because this model reports faults through lamps rather than an alphanumeric display. For an airflow complaint, mention filter condition, outside-hood airflow and how many cycles have run since a vent was cleaned.

The support-linked owner PDF, especially pages 29, 30 and 39, provides the control drawing and the limited list of real fault indications. The exact DLE6100W specification establishes white electric configuration, 7.3-cubic-foot capacity and absence of steam and Wi-Fi. A technician can then separate a temperature sensor fault, a power connection fault and an exhaust restriction without applying gas-model or newer-LCD advice. The outgoing GE DISR473DTWW has only rotary knobs on its own documented control panel; its generic troubleshooting does not offer equivalent displayed signals.
