MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: LG LDB4548ST
LG LDB4548ST: verified 48 dBA top-control model, NFC Tag On and documented display faults.
Match the older NFC top-control model
The exact LG listing identifies LDB4548ST as a top-control dishwasher, and its owner PDF covers the LDB454 family on the title page. The separate specification names this particular stainless model, fifteen place settings and a 48 dBA sound rating. A pocket handle, adjustable upper rack, three spray arms and QuadWash describe a different loading arrangement from LG Studio models with water softeners or third racks. The drawing on page 25 shows a time display along the top edge and a Night Dry symbol. Smart functions also have an important generation difference: this model's spec says NFC Tag On, not Wi-Fi. The owner guide says compatible Android phones can use the short-range tap interaction for a downloaded cycle, Machine Clean coaching, settings and Smart Diagnosis. It stores one downloaded cycle at a time. Someone searching for a missing wireless network icon on this model would be troubleshooting a feature it was never specified to have. Verify the model plate, top row of buttons and NFC marking before following an app setup guide written for a newer connected dishwasher.
Use Night Dry and energy settings knowingly
LDB4548ST lists nine wash cycles and eight options, but drying depends on which combination is chosen. Its exact spec calls the system hybrid condensing drying. The Normal section of the owner guide offers Night Dry when dishes will stay inside overnight; after the cycle a fan runs for an hour to vent humid air. Turbo, Rinse and Express are different because their basic cycle does not include drying. Extra Dry or another suitable cycle may be needed for dishes that must be put away promptly. Energy Saver lowers the wash and rinse temperatures and lengthens operation to preserve cleaning performance; the manual warns against choosing it for heavily soiled dishes. High Temp can produce a sanitized indicator only when the required conditions were reached. If the cycle was interrupted or the water was not hot enough, the lamp does not illuminate. This is a result indicator rather than a new numeric fault code. Compare the selected cycle, Night Dry symbol and sanitization result before deciding that wet dishes mean a heater has failed.
Care for rinse aid, filters and water paths
The panel has a rinse-aid icon and a separate Machine Clean reminder. The abridged guide sets the rinse-aid dispenser at level two from the factory and permits levels L0 through L4; a flashing low-rinse-aid icon means refill, while an L value shown during adjustment is a setting. Food caught in the three-stage filter can create odor or restrict drainage, so LG recommends cleaning after each load and refitting the assembly until it clicks. For an IE fault inspect the house water supply and look for a kinked, frozen or blocked inlet hose. OE belongs to the waste-water side: inspect the hose, the external air gap or sink disposal, and those filters. Cleaning an external air gap is plumbing maintenance, not a motor replacement. The guide also treats a closed door too late after Start as a failed start sequence, with flashing time and an audible alert. That ordinary sequence should not be relabeled IE because no fill occurred. Record when the display changed and which pipe path was involved.
Read faults separately from cycle and lock states
The bE row covers excessive suds from unsuitable detergent or an unlevel machine. This differs from AE, which is the manual's water-leak warning: close the supply and contact LG, since protective pumping can continue intermittently. FE denotes too much water supplied. HE concerns the heater circuit, tE the water-temperature sensor, LE the wash motor and NE the Vario motor. Those latter rows direct the owner to service, not to an unverified part order. The error table occupies pages 36 and 37 of the linked abridged owner PDF, beneath the exact family cover and the pictured digital control. Page 37 also lists P1 through P4 downloaded cycles, test patterns, rinse levels L0–L4 and CL control lock as normal states. They may look like concise codes on the display but are expressly not failures. Preserve the uppercase or lowercase letters in a photograph, note whether water is visibly leaking and provide LDB4548ST when requesting support. This narrows a real diagnosis without inventing an extra meaning for a normal option.
