MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: Midea MAD50PS1BQGR

Midea MAD50PS1BQGR Air Magic+ Cube: five exact-PDF signals, ionizer controls and pump drainage.

Identify the Air Magic+ variant

MAD50PS1BQGR is the Midea Cube with a 50-pint daily capacity, built-in pump and ionizer. The exact listing suggests rooms up to 4,500 square feet and names SmartHome and voice assistant control. It gives the same compact 14.45-by-14.57-by-14.76-inch body footprint and 41.54-pound weight as some other Cubes, which makes the printed suffix important: the Air Magic+ control and EH-series diagnostic strings come from this model's own PDF. The cover contains MAD50PS1BQGR alone. The product page describes the ionizer as helping reduce airborne pollutants, but that marketing claim is not a measurement of your room's air quality. Check the label before ordering accessories or following instructions for a similar 50-pint Cube, because the visual housing is insufficient to identify the code family.

Understand the separate air and water controls

Air Magic+ is called an air-purification function in the manual. Hold Up and Down together for two seconds to start or stop it; the matching indicator should illuminate when the ion generator is active. This key combination is different from the three-second Fill Level action for pump mode and the Fill Level plus Up combination for bucketless operation. The manual shows four selectable bucket levels for MAD50PS1BQGR, with the highest around 4.25 gallons. P2 means the chosen level has been reached, including when the power button is off. In ordinary bucket operation the top is turned ninety degrees from its storage position and aligned with the arrows on the bucket. If Eb appears after the top is lifted, reseat it correctly; an Eb during deliberate bucketless setup requires following that mode's procedure within three minutes of plugging in.

Route drainage according to the chosen mode

The Cube offers a bucket, a bucketless gravity arrangement, continuous drainage while stacked, and a pump arrangement. In the gravity modes, the hose outlet must remain below the unit's drain port; a raised loop can prevent water from leaving. For pump use, seat the upper unit on the bucket with the inlet hose locked into its side connector. The pump waits for the fourth fill level before starting, and its outlet hose can send water to a drain up to fourteen feet above the port. A little water intentionally remains to avoid pumping air. If the pump lamp flashes, unplug the machine and inspect its filter, hose for debris or leaks, bucket water and connector fit. That flashing lamp is not EH0b or another display code. If the hose runs outdoors, avoid freezing conditions that can block it.

Read the EH codes precisely

The rendered code page assigns EH60 to the room-temperature sensor and EH61 to the evaporator tube-temperature sensor. EH0b, ending in a lowercase b, concerns communication between the display board and main control board. These are not the AS and ES labels used on some related Cube manuals. For EH60 and EH61, the table says unplug and reconnect, then request service if the problem repeats. EH0b has the same limited owner response; opening either board is not an owner troubleshooting step. P2 and Eb are listed separately as bucket protection conditions, so emptying or positioning the bucket is more relevant than replacing electronics. Note the exact sequence on the physical display and whether the pump lamp also flashed. The manual's broad troubleshooting table may list older code names, but this model's dedicated display table is the controlling evidence.

Distinguish operating pauses from faults

The dehumidifier can stop its compressor briefly for automatic defrost, and a protective three-minute delay follows a stop before restarting. Neither is evidence of an EH sensor code without the displayed characters. Poor moisture removal may instead come from a blocked front or back airflow path, an overly high humidity setpoint, a dirty filter, an open room or temperatures below 41°F. Check those conditions while leaving the sealed refrigerant and control boards untouched. A network outage can temporarily make the SmartHome app and unit display disagree; that is distinct from EH0b, which the manual describes as communication between two internal boards. For an actual returning EH code, record the model, characters and circumstances, then call the manufacturer's service channel after the specified power reset.
