MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Midea MLTW44A4BWW
MLTW44A4BWW is a 4.4-cubic-foot smart top-load washer with an agitator, two-stage detergent dispenser and eleven documented alerts.
Identify the white smart agitator washer
MLTW44A4BWW is Midea's white smart top-load washer with a 4.4-cubic-foot tub. Its Power Wave 360 agitator moves water in several directions, while a dual-phase dispenser divides detergent between two stages. A soft-close lid and four-way anti-vibration suspension distinguish it from simpler top-load models. The exact product specification lists ten cycles, a 700-rpm maximum spin and a cabinet 28.5 inches wide, 27 deep and 44.2 high. WiFi, an LED cycle indicator, Download cycle and Smart Control are also listed. The official owner's guide has a shared cover naming MLTW44A4BWW and MLTW45M4BWW. That explicit model listing is why its later diagnostic chart can be applied to the 4.4-cubic-foot version, even though the second SKU has a different capacity. Check the actual model label before using a code page from a similar washer.
Connect water and level the cabinet
Correct installation helps prevent misleading fill and balance errors. The manual calls for 14 to 116 psi of water pressure and new supply hoses. Before attaching them to the machine, run the disconnected hose ends into a bucket for ten to fifteen seconds to flush foreign material. Both hot and cold faucets normally connect; the guide warns that absent supply can produce an error, and it gives a specific cap-and-Tap-Cold arrangement if hot water is intentionally unavailable. Keep hose ends free of kinks and check every fitting for leaks. To level the cabinet, pour water to the tub's circular reference mark: the water should touch the ring evenly all around. Then run the prescribed test with about six pounds of laundry on Rinse & Spin. Excess rocking or poor draining calls for adjustment before a sensor is blamed.
Use cycles, detergent and remote control
The product's ten cycles include Normal, Bedding, Heavy Duty, Towels, Whites, Quick Wash, Delicates, Rinse & Spin, Tub Clean and Download. Use HE detergent as the owner guide recommends; ordinary high-sudsing detergent can upset rinsing and spin. Load dry, unfolded clothes to no more than three quarters of the tub, especially around the central agitator. Liquid softener belongs in its compartment with the Fabric Softener option selected so release occurs in the rinse. SmartHome setup requires a 2.4 GHz home network. The manual says remote control needs an Internet connection and a closed lid and may need reactivation after the lid opens. The Download setting can hold a cycle chosen in the app. This model therefore combines physical dial operation with network features; a failed app connection does not by itself prove a washer-motor fault.
Check routine care before service
Care and ordinary checks make the code table more useful. Midea suggests a roughly monthly Tub Clean cycle to reduce residue and odor, with no laundry in the tub. If a cycle will not start, check household power, lid closure, open water faucets, Control Lock and any set delay. The machine can make clicking noises before fill while verifying that the lid is locked. For no drain or spin, the owner guide again asks about the lid and a kinked drain hose. Clothes piled on one side can trigger an imbalance, so redistribute a small or bulky load rather than repeatedly restarting it unchanged. A lid lock may take a few seconds to release after Pause. These are external observations; they do not justify bypassing the lid interlock or opening the control enclosure. Record the actual screen message if the fault remains.
Read the eleven display alerts
The rendered table on PDF page 43 shows eleven distinct alerts. E1 covers water-level progress after filling; page 42 also uses E1 for a prolonged fill at low, medium or high level. E2 is slow drainage, E3 an open lid or unlevel cabinet, E4 repeated spin imbalance and E5 an unlevel cabinet or impact-switch problem. F2 names EEPROM failure, F5 load-sensing failure, F8 water-level sensor failure, Fd lid-lock failure and C9 control-board failure. Those F and C rows direct Midea service. CL is more specific: the lid stayed open over twenty seconds while Control Lock was active, so the manual says to turn the washer off and disable the lock as directed. E3 and CL are not interchangeable. Preserve the lowercase d in Fd and the uppercase CL when reporting a code, and use the exact row's suggested checks before arranging service.
