MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Midea MRF27I6BST
MRF27I6BST is Midea Canada's 26.5-cu-ft counter-depth French-door refrigerator with AutoFill pitcher, two ice sizes and thirteen verified codes.
Measure the counter-depth cabinet
MRF27I6BST is Midea Canada's counter-depth, stainless French-door refrigerator. Its exact specification gives 26.5 cubic feet overall, split into 18.22 for fresh food and 8.26 for the freezer. The cabinet is about 35.8 inches wide, 29.02 deep and 69.9 high, with a listed weight of 257.94 pounds. The 25-inch depth without doors and 44.29-inch reach with a door opened 90 degrees make different planning measurements: a shallow cabinet still needs room to swing. The owner's dimensional drawing goes further, showing the width needed at a 160-degree opening. The linked manual cover includes MRF27I6BST and the larger MRF32I6BST, but its table assigns this model 26.5 rather than 31.7 cubic feet. Counter-depth describes the cabinet proportions; the manual specifically says to install it free standing, not recessed or built into cabinetry.
Set up cooling and filtered water
The fresh-food compartment includes a full-width shelf, two half-width shelves and a pair of crisper drawers, so tall containers need deliberate shelf placement. The water line must be connected only to potable water at 40 to 100 psi. At initial installation, the owner guide calls for an air purge of about 2.5 gallons using thirty seconds dispensing and sixty seconds resting, not one continuous run. The pitcher slides into a holder reached through the left fresh-food door. Once power is connected, allow the appliance to cool before loading food; the guide's first setting is 37°F for fresh food and -4°F for the freezer, with ice production enabled. Those values are also its suggested storage targets under the stated 25°C room condition. The filter reminder illuminates after 330 days and flashes after 360 days; it is a timed replacement prompt, not one of the fault codes below.
Operate the pitcher and two ice makers
MRF27I6BST offers an AutoFill pitcher and separate large- and small-ice controls. The pitcher fills only when seated properly in its holder and the door is shut. After power is restored, AutoFill may take three minutes; if filling stalls, the guide says to check water connections, wipe excess moisture from the pitcher front, and reseat it. A cup can also be filled manually at the holder after removing the pitcher, but the dispensing control stops after two continuous minutes. Fruit or tea may be placed in the pitcher infuser; the manual recommends drinking fruit-infused water within a day and washing the pitcher afterwards. Ice is not instantaneous: the initial batch may take about seven hours. A slow first batch should therefore be distinguished from L- or H-series ice-maker faults. Keep foreign objects out of both ice bins so sensing and tray movement remain clear.
Separate maintenance reminders from faults
This refrigerator has Wi-Fi capability, Sabbath mode, a door alarm and a control lock, but those functions do not all indicate service trouble. A door left open more than two minutes sounds a buzzer. The filter's age-based icon is another ordinary maintenance signal. For ongoing care, check door gaskets for debris and clean dust behind the cabinet at least yearly as the guide instructs. Good seals and clear ventilation protect the cooling performance of a counter-depth appliance just as much as its initial thermostat setting. The control panel can show an actual fault code in place of normal temperature information; document that display before requesting repair. A problem with AutoFill can also be caused by pitcher position or water supply rather than electronics. Try only the user checks described by the manual; internal boards and sensors belong to qualified maintenance personnel.
Read the thirteen displayed faults
The image-verified table on PDF page 15 contains thirteen codes. E1 identifies the refrigerator temperature sensor, E2 the freezer temperature sensor, E5 the freezer frosting sensor, E6 communication, E7 ambient-temperature sensing and EH humidity sensing. CA specifically means communication between the main board and ice-making board failed. The initial letter distinguishes the two ice mechanisms: L7 is the small-ice tray sensor, L8 its initialization and L9 its turnover; H7, H8 and H9 are the same stages on the large-ice maker. Preserve the letter and digit when reporting an error. The guide says the appliance may continue cooling during a listed fault, but still asks owners to contact maintenance personnel. An open-door buzzer, an aging filter icon or a slow first ice batch alone is not proof of any of those thirteen codes. Note MRF27I6BST and the exact display rather than transplanting a diagnosis from a different Midea fridge.
