MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Midea MRF32I6BST
MRF32I6BST is Midea's 31.7-cubic-foot French-door refrigerator with dual-size ice and Water2Ways pitcher, supported by thirteen fault codes.
Distinguish the 32-cubic-foot model
MRF32I6BST is Midea's Standard-Depth PLUS French-door refrigerator, marketed as 32 cubic feet and specified more precisely at 31.7 cubic feet. The manufacturer splits that figure into 21.8 cubic feet refrigerated and 9.9 frozen. Its three-door layout has two fresh-food doors above a freezer drawer, with six door bins and three storage drawers. The cabinet is listed at 35.8 inches wide, 33.7 deep and 69.9 high. Water2Ways means a 54-ounce AutoFill pitcher inside plus a manual dispenser for cups. Two ice makers produce small and large pieces, with up to five pounds a day advertised. The linked owner's manual covers both MRF27I6BST and MRF32I6BST; its specification table separately confirms the 31.7-cubic-foot capacity and deeper cabinet for this exact SKU. The cover's two model numbers are therefore a family scope, not evidence that the smaller refrigerator has the same volume.
Prepare water and both ice makers
Installation matters especially because this refrigerator uses water in three ways: pitcher, cup dispenser and dual ice production. The guide identifies the appliance as freestanding and calls for a level, sturdy, ventilated site. It says the incoming line must supply potable water at 40 to 100 psi. After connection, the water circuit needs purging; the filter section describes approximately 2.5 gallons, dispensed in cycles of thirty seconds on and sixty off rather than one uninterrupted run. The pitcher belongs in its holder at the left fresh-food door. The two ice makers have separate large-ice and small-ice controls; they begin on by default after initial power-up. The manual says first ice can take about seven hours, so an empty bin immediately after installation is not itself a fault. Keep foreign objects out of both ice storage boxes because the detection rod and moving grid can jam.
Use the pitcher, controls and filter reminder
At first power-up, the manual gives 37°F for the fresh compartment and -4°F for the freezer. It displays a fault code when one is present and otherwise shows the set refrigerator temperature. The filter icon lights after 330 days of operation and flashes after 360 days; this reminder is not the same as an E-series fault. AutoFill starts after the pitcher sits correctly and its door closes. After power is restored, wait three minutes for that function to become available; surface moisture on the pitcher can also interfere with a full fill. The removable pitcher has an insert for fruit or tea, but the guide recommends drinking infused water within twenty-four hours and washing afterward. With the pitcher removed, the holder's spout can fill a cup manually and stops after two continuous minutes. These ordinary limits help distinguish a usage issue from an ice-board code.
Keep water paths and cabinet clean
Maintain the water path and cabinet before drawing conclusions from weak flow or slow ice. Verify that the pitcher lid and holder seat correctly, and use the manual's purge instructions after long non-use. Do not store other items in an ice bin, since the detection rod can interpret them as ice or the grid can strike them while turning. The manual recommends checking the door gasket for debris and removing dust from behind the cabinet at least yearly. Keep vents clear so cooling performance is not reduced by tight placement. A door-open buzzer after two minutes is a separate alarm, not one of the thirteen displayed fault strings. When the filter-age reminder appears, replace the appropriate filter and use the control's reset procedure. Do not confuse that timed reminder with a humidity or temperature sensor failure.
Read all thirteen fault codes
The rendered table on PDF page 15 contains thirteen codes. E1 is the fresh-compartment temperature sensor, E2 the freezer temperature sensor, E5 the freezer frosting sensor, E6 communication, E7 ambient temperature and EH humidity. CA is specifically communication between the main-control board and ice-making board. The L group concerns the small-ice maker: L7 tray sensor, L8 initialization and L9 ice-turnover movement. The H group repeats those three functions for the large-ice maker: H7, H8 and H9. Keeping the L/H prefix is important because this model has two independent ice makers. The manual says cooling may continue during a fault but directs the owner to contact maintenance personnel. Record the exact display and model number instead of opening board covers or assuming that a delayed first batch of ice proves a component failure.
