MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Midea MRS25I7BST
MRS25I7BST is a side-by-side refrigerator with a 54-ounce AutoFill pitcher, internal dispenser, ice maker and twelve documented fault codes.
Identify this side-by-side model
MRS25I7BST is Midea's counter-depth side-by-side refrigerator with a 24.5-cubic-foot listed capacity. Unlike a French-door layout, its freezer runs vertically beside the fresh-food compartment; the product specification divides volume into 9.4 cubic feet frozen and 15.1 refrigerated. The body measures 35.8 inches wide, 28.9 deep and 69.9 high. The manufacturer advertises a 54-ounce AutoFill pitcher, an internal dispenser, a built-in ice maker, gallon-sized door bins, crisper bins and LED lighting. The dispenser can fill a cup when the pitcher is removed, making this a two-way water arrangement inside the cabinet. The exact owner PDF says MRS25I7BST on its cover. That matters because a similarly named Midea fridge may display different ice-related codes or start at different temperature settings.
Install with room for doors and water
Counter-depth in the product name does not mean built-in installation. The manual expressly calls for a free-standing position and gives more than 100 mm of clearance at both sides and above, with 50–75 mm behind. Its drawing shows 57.4 inches of width when the two doors open to 125 degrees, appreciably more than the 35.8-inch closed body. The water connection must use potable water at 276–689 kPa inlet pressure. The pitcher is pushed straight into its holder; its door must then close for automatic filling. The front leveling feet can help with closure by setting the front slightly higher than the rear. After the first power connection, the guide asks for two or three hours of cooling before loading food. Plan these space, water and startup conditions before treating weak cooling or no water as a component failure.
Distinguish display modes from faults
This unit initially displays Fahrenheit, with default settings of 37°F for the refrigerator and minus 4°F for the freezer, equivalent to 3°C and minus 20°C. The adjustable ranges are 1–7°C and minus 22 to minus 14°C. The panel locks after ten seconds without input and goes dark after thirty; a button wakes it. A three-second hold changes Celsius and Fahrenheit. The filter icon lights after 150 days and flashes after 180, then the timer can be reset after replacement. Super Cool holds 1°C for six hours, while Super Freeze holds minus 22°C for forty. Sabbath mode uses a three-second button combination; a separate four-second hold forces wireless AP setup and displays `AP` temporarily. These operating states are worth identifying before searching the fault table. A genuine fault cycles its code instead of the ordinary set temperature.
Use and maintain the pitcher and ice bin
The AutoFill pitcher must sit correctly in the holder with the door shut. The manual says moisture on the pitcher's front can interrupt a complete fill; reseating the pitcher and checking the water pipes are the first visible checks if automatic filling stops. With the pitcher removed, press the internal dispenser into a cup; it stops after one continuous two-minute press and can be started again after release. The pitcher has a removable infuser for tea or fruit, but the guide says to hand-wash pitcher and lid and keep them out of a dishwasher or microwave. The ice box turns about 35 degrees to take a small quantity and can be removed when more is needed. A dry pitcher, water-supply issue or empty ice box is a symptom to investigate, not by itself proof of E0, EE or EP.
Read the exact diagnostic table
The rendered English fault table on PDF page 14 lists twelve actual display codes. E1 and E2 identify refrigerator and freezer temperature-sensor faults; E5 is the freezer defrost sensor, E7 the ambient sensor, and E6 a communication fault. The ice group is precise: E0 uses the digit zero and means an ice-maker fault, EE means an ice-maker sensor fault, and EP says the ice maker fails to drop ice. L3 and L4 describe freezer-fan failure and abnormal speed; L5 and L6 do the same for the condenser fan. The manual warns that cooling may continue even while one of these faults is present and tells owners to contact maintenance personnel. Report the exact characters and model number. Do not confuse E0 with the letter O, `AP` setup mode, a filter reminder or normal screen sleep.
