MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung DVE45B6300W/A3
Exact-model guide to the Samsung DVE45B6300W/A3 digital display, vent blockage test and documented codes.
Which electric dryer this manual covers
DVE45B6300W/A3 is Samsung’s white, 7.5 cubic foot electric dryer with Steam Sanitize+ and Sensor Dry. Those details matter when checking a manual shared with other finishes and a gas sibling: the owner PDF names the DVE(G)45B6300* family on its cover, while its control-panel drawing separates DVE45B6300* electric models from DVG45B6300* gas models. The electric drawing has a Digital Graphic Display that can show cycle time, operating state and information codes. Therefore the codes below relate to an actual display on this electric series, rather than an inferred light on an analog dryer. Use the full W/A3 suffix when ordering parts or contacting support.
Run the vent blockage test
The installation test checks the exhaust route under controlled conditions. Empty the drum and close the door before switching the DVE45B6300W/A3 on; laundry left inside can make the result inaccurate. Hold Adjust Time and Dryness together for three seconds until InS appears, then press and hold Start/Pause as directed. The indicator rotates while the roughly two-minute test runs, so leave the door closed. A displayed 0 is the normal result for that test, followed by a completion tone. A check code instead points to the table on the next manual page. The result stays visible for about five minutes and then clears; Power can also dismiss it.
Read Clg, C80 and C90 as different airflow results
The three airflow results have different severities. Clg, sometimes displayed as Cg, means that the vent is clogged. C80 or C8 describes roughly eighty percent blockage and warns that drying performance may fall; C90 or C9 means more than ninety percent blockage and may lead to poor drying or malfunction. Samsung’s response begins with the lint filter and a check of the duct. The manual calls for four-inch rigid metal ducting and warns against screws that trap lint, so a blocked household run may need professional cleaning beyond the machine itself. A 0 result only describes this test: the manual cautions that slight restriction can still exist.
Separate invalid tests from faults
Not every symbol in the installation table means a blocked vent. Ct says the dryer temperature was below 32 °F or above 104 °F, so blockage could not be measured; leave the appliance at 41–95 °F for an hour before trying again. C1 directs you to remove items from the drum and retest because it may also indicate a dry-sensor problem. dC points to a door that is not properly closed. Other results call for a different response: tC identifies a temperature-sensor error, 9C1 reports abnormal voltage, and HC signals abnormal drum temperature. Follow the manual’s power and ventilation checks and use Samsung service for a persistent fault.
Use the right cycle after a diagnosis
After correcting a vent problem, choose a program for the load rather than using extra time to mask weak airflow. Sensor Dry measures humidity and adjusts the drying period; the display has a separate icon when that mode is active. Steam Sanitize uses steam plus high heat and the manual specifies a wet or partly wet starting load. Refresh is for just one to four items to reduce odors and wrinkles. Those steam cycles require the cold-water hose described in the installation chapter. For a fixed short job, Quick Dry runs thirty minutes; Air Fluff tumbles with room-temperature air. The electric dryer’s product page lists both Sensor Dry and Steam Sanitize+ for this SKU.
Keep display messages useful in routine care
The DVE45B6300* panel also has Smart Control, identified in the manual specifically for the electric models. Once linked through SmartThings, this button supports remote control or monitoring; it does not replace reading a displayed fault locally. The Filter Check icon appears after each load, so clean the lint filter before or after every load and reinsert it properly. If the dryer fails to run, page 56 provides a separate information-code list: FC concerns supply frequency, AC an electronic communication problem, dF the door switch, and 3C a PBA check. Repeated codes call for the actions in that table and Samsung service, not a generic vent-cleaning response.
