MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung DW80B6060US/AC
Samsung DW80B6060US/AC dishwasher: applicable B6 controls, LC/4C/5C diagnostics and care guidance.
Identify the B6 appliance and its manual
Samsung's Canadian listing identifies DW80B6060US/AC as a 15-place dishwasher rated at 44 dBA. Its specification names StormWash+, AutoRelease drying, hidden touch controls and ENERGY STAR certification; it also quotes 3.2 gallons of water per cycle. Those facts identify this particular SKU before advice for another DW80B series machine is applied. The official support page provides a user manual whose cover includes DW80B60*. More decisively, page 28 draws a separate DW80B6* control panel with a numeric display and Lock key. The adjacent DW80B7* drawing includes SmartDry Hi/Lo, which is absent from the B6 diagram. A drying option shown only on the B7 panel should therefore not be used as a step for this B6 appliance. The displayed characters and the serial-model suffix matter when matching a warning to the information-code table.
Choose the wash and arrange its load
The listed seven programs are meant to be chosen according to the load, rather than treated as interchangeable cleaning intensities. Storm Wash+ is directed at difficult pans and serving bowls placed face down in its marked part of the lower rack. Raise or lower the upper rack before putting dishes into it; the manual warns that adjusting a loaded rack can damage the contents. A removable third rack provides another space for small utensils, but its handle locks must be re-engaged after removal. For Auto or Normal, Samsung's table gives 20 g of detergent in the main dispenser and 10 g for prewash. Heavy and Express 60' instead show 30 g and 15 g. The available Download Cycle can supply Self Clean or specialized programs through the app, while only Normal plus Sanitize carries the manual's NSF 184 sanitation statement. Record these choices before interpreting a disappointing wash as a fault.
Understand the display and ordinary control states
The B6 display normally reports timing, yet a problem produces an information code with an audible warning. An unresponsive selector may simply reflect Lock: the manual says it blocks every ordinary button except POWER and survives a restart. Hold the appropriate Sanitize or Lock control for three seconds to change that state. DW80B6060US/AC has embedded Wi-Fi, and the manual identifies a 2.4 GHz connection for SmartThings; a network pairing issue is a separate question from a wash code. Delay Start reaches twenty-four hours in hourly steps, so a late cycle can also be intentional. AutoRelease opens the door shortly before a cycle finishes; its configuration offers A1/A0, while J1/J0 governs its alert, U1/U0 the sound and F1–F6 the rinse-aid amount. After automatic opening, the door may resist manual closing for two minutes by design. None of those settings should be confused with a leaking-water warning.
Use reminders and maintenance before a fault
Care and fault diagnosis meet at the filters and spray path. Samsung recommends cleaning the filter monthly, an actionable interval even if no code is displayed. The Self Clean reminder briefly blinks after roughly twenty to twenty-two cycles, and the Rinse Refill light points to an empty rinse-aid supply. These lamps ask for upkeep, whereas the information codes indicate a particular check. If the lower rack is packed around the Storm Wash+ zone, inspect whether cookware prevents the spray assembly from working as intended. If the upper rack was moved, confirm it is locked at equal height on both sides and its contents do not obstruct the nozzle. Such observations can explain poor results without claiming that a displayed electrical or water fault has been repaired. Keep the precise sequence of cycle, setting and warning available for service if the code returns.
Read water-system codes literally
When letters appear in the display, copy them before power is interrupted. LC asks for a leakage check; for a leaking supply-valve connection the manual directs closing that valve, switching off the dishwasher circuit breaker and contacting the installer. A continuing LC belongs with authorized service. Code 4C is not a leak diagnosis: Samsung says to look for a shut, blocked or frozen water valve and insufficient inlet pressure. If it persists, close the valve and request service. Code 5C points downstream. After closing the supply, inspect the drain hose for a kink or clog and the drain opening inside the sump for obstruction; persistent trouble likewise requires service. Keeping these three codes separate prevents an inlet restriction from being described as a failed drain pump or an active leak from being treated as a routine cycle delay.
Escalate pump and heating codes appropriately
Other displayed codes deserve their own notes rather than a generic reset instruction. The table calls 3C a pump-operation check and PC a zone-wash-function check; for each, it permits switching off and trying to start again before contacting authorized service if the condition remains. HC2 is specifically a dry-heater failure check with an off/on retry. HC4 indicates dry-heater overheat and instructs the owner to unplug before calling Samsung service. The 9C9 entry says the intelligent power module is overheating and likewise directs unplugging and contacting customer service. These meanings describe what the machine reports, not proof that a particular internal component should be replaced. Mention the exact code and whether Storm Wash+, Lower Rack or Sanitize was in use when seeking help; avoid opening the appliance to investigate energized parts.
