MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung WF45R6300AW/US
The exact Samsung support record identifies WF45R6300AW/US as a smart front-load washer with SuperSpeed.
Identify the 6300R washer before using the shared instructions
The exact Samsung support record identifies WF45R6300AW/US as a smart front-load washer with SuperSpeed. Its Canadian support title uses 5.2 cubic feet, while the linked owner's physical page 60 states 4.5 cubic feet for WF45R6300A*. Samsung supplies both figures without explaining their measuring conventions in this document, so preserve the source when quoting capacity. The A* on the manual cover includes this AW variant; it does not turn the manual into a specification for a different 6300 series. The same page lists a 1,200 rpm maximum spin revolution, a 900 W heating rating and 20–116 psi water pressure. These details matter when judging a heater code or a slow fill. Before opening an appliance page or ordering a part, read the complete model string from its label, including the /US suffix.
Use the separate buttons on this generation's panel
This machine has a Cycle Selector dial and individual Temp., Rinse, Spin and Soil controls, rather than the later Samsung navigation dial with an LCD options menu. Its display can show the remaining time or an information code. The Temp. description says Cold at level 1 uses only cold water and does not use the washer's heater; a cold programme is therefore not a useful test of the 900 W heater. Holding Spin for three seconds enters Spin Only, a way to observe drainage and balance separately from washing. Pre Soak adds 30 minutes, while Delay End sets a finish time one to 24 hours later; the number on the display means time until completion, not a delayed start interval. Smart Control relies on the SmartThings home-network connection, and the manual explains that enabling it locks the front door while awaiting remote commands. The Garment+ icon permits pausing to add clothing only when the door can open. If keys or the door seem unavailable, also check Child Lock, which is set using Temp. and Rinse and can be cancelled by holding both for six seconds.
Choose a cycle by fabric and watch the load size
The Steam button is available with Normal, Heavy Duty, Whites, Bedding and Sanitize. The separate Super Speed button shortens Normal, Whites, Heavy Duty or Bedding, but the manual cautions that the result depends on load and other options. Quick Wash is for lightly soiled clothing and recommends no more than four pounds. Bedding is meant for bulky pieces; Samsung advises a single type of bedding at a time, liquid detergent and avoiding a rolled bundle that could lodge in the drum. Sanitize raises water to 150 °F, or 65 °C, and keeps the door locked if the heating phase is paused. The Downloaded selector position is for an additional cycle chosen in SmartThings; its factory selection is Towels. It should not be confused with a defect simply because it does not behave like a fixed dial label. Use low-suds, high-efficiency detergent. When using powder, remove the liquid detergent container and put powder in the main-wash compartment, not into that container.
Read both pages of information codes
The first table, on physical page 56, lists 1C for water-level sensing, DC for an open door, DC1 for its switch, LC for a leak check, 4C for water supply, 4C2 for overly hot incoming water and 5C for drainage. The second, on page 57, adds HC for the wash heater; UB for an unbalanced spin; 8C, 8C1 and 8C2 for the MEMS sensor; OC for possible overflow; 3C for the motor; AC6 for control-board communication; 9C1 and 9C2 for electronic control; and SF for a system failure. These are literal display strings, including the digit one in 1C and the letter C in 5C. A page-56 note says that automatic draining on some models can temporarily disable Power and Start/Pause; wait for that sequence before assuming the controls have failed. HC and SF direct the user to power off and contact Samsung service. OC calls for closing the water valve and service, rather than repeatedly running another load.
Separate routine maintenance from a recurring fault
For 5C, the code table asks for a drain-filter check and a restart after cleaning. An emergency drain procedure is described elsewhere in the owner, so retained water should be handled through that documented path before removing the filter. For 4C, inspect open taps, hose connections and the inlet mesh filter. A 4C2 message points to hot and cold hoses attached to the wrong taps. With UB, redistribute a heavy or very small load and check that the washer stands level. The SELF CLEAN reminder appears after 40 cycles; the Self Clean cycle requires an empty drum and is a maintenance prompt, not an error code. Samsung's Smart Care instructions can photograph a displayed code using the app, with manual entry if the camera does not recognize it. Keep the exact code, cycle and attempted check in your service notes. If the same message returns after the manual's prescribed retry, use Samsung service rather than guessing at an internal component.
