Samsung Canada's support page identifies WF53BB8900AGUS and advertises a 6.1-cubic-foot Bespoke front-load washer. The official owner PDF is broader: its cover lists both WF53BB89**A* and WF46BG65**A*. The English specification on physical page 71 gives the WF53 column 5.3 cubic feet and the smaller WF46 column 4.6. These figures come from different published contexts, so a capacity statement should retain its source. More importantly, two useful functions in the booklet are explicitly WF53-only. Page 41 assigns AI OptiWash to WF53BB89 models, and page 47 does the same for Drum Light. The full model code therefore matters when a menu does not match a general Samsung help page. For this WF53, the installation drawing calls for 34.4 inches of closed-door depth and 56.3 inches with the door fully open. The WF46 measurements are shorter and should not be used for a WF53 alcove.
Let AI OptiWash use the dosing system it expects
AI OptiWash senses laundry type, weight and soil level, then adjusts cycle settings. Samsung says it can add detergent, wash time and rinses for heavier soil. The same page recommends turning on Auto Dispense so the cycle can vary detergent quantity with the detected soil. This is not a promise of one fixed time or quantity for every load. The manual specifies that its fabric sensing applies to an eight-pound load or less while turbidity sensing operates for all weights; actual results can vary. The automatic dispenser has separate liquid detergent and softener compartments, plus manual detergent and bleach areas. Powder belongs only in the correct manual area with the liquid insert removed. Dose per Wash and Dose per Rinse each offer Low, Medium, High and Off, with Medium as default. Detergent concentration is another setting: a higher concentration selection reduces the amount dispensed. Before diagnosing weak cleaning or overuse, check both the dose level and concentration setting.
Interpret dispenser and panel behaviour in context
An empty reservoir can prompt Refill Auto detergent dispenser or a corresponding softener message. The drawer must close fully; the owner describes a separate Detergent drawer is open alert. Wool, Delicates, Outdoor and Activewear also have automatic dosing switched off unless the user selects an input level. That exception can explain why a reservoir has not fallen after a special cycle. The manual asks owners to use HE detergent and to clean compartments before refilling; it warns against leaving liquid in them for over six weeks. On the panel, AI Pattern remembers frequently used cycles, which is separate from AI OptiWash's sensing during a load. The WF53 specifications include a 900-watt heater, supporting applicability of HC. Preserve the complete code, including the final digit in LC1 or AC6, when seeking help.
Use the listed response and keep a useful service record
Samsung tells users to restart after spinning for OC and call service if it remains. For LC or LC1, check the drain-hose end and any clog. The 3C entry allows a cycle retry; 1C, AC and DC1 call for switching off and restarting. Persistent information codes go to service, not to an improvised board replacement. When Check water supply appears, the panel can remain disabled for three minutes while the washer drains; a dark or inactive control during that interval has a documented explanation. A door may also wait up to three minutes after stopping and remain closed while water is in the drum. Before one recommended retry, write down the cycle, load, code and whether Auto Dispense and AI OptiWash were active. This gives Samsung a more useful history if the code returns.
